Gallup have released a new report entitled ‘State of the Global Workplace 2023’. Gallup is committed to bringing the voice of the employee to the decision-making table as they help global leaders solve their most pressing problems.
The report has a number of very important and alarming findings. The overall findings indicate that engagement levels of employees is low across the globe. Low engagement generally means employees are not happy in their jobs. We know, through our own research, that this can then lead to low morale and low productivity and this can affect retention and more importantly, business performance.
Gallup has found that most workers are “quiet quitting” (not engaged) or “loud quitting” (actively disengaged). As businesses we need to do more to engage our workforce. We must make them happier. This can be achieved through daily appreciation by creating great breakout spaces and encouraging regular breaks.
