As we adjust to working in the new normal, businesses in Ireland and the UK are finding the requirements to reopen safely complex and daunting. In fact, according to CIPD, the number one issue on employer’s minds is adhering to quite complicated guidelines to make sure the workplace is safe, but also functional.
Of course current estimates are that over half of all working adults in the UK are working from home. Many may not ever return to the workplace full time. So for businesses where working remotely is an option, the purpose of the workplace will change. People will come into the office when they need to or want to, not because they have to. So many workplaces will change slightly in function; the focus will be on safe meeting spaces, dedicated to the kind of collaborations or conversations which don’t work as well online.
With this in mind we’ve been about the role and purpose of coffee, snacking and refreshment zones in offices. These will provide focal point for collaborative work the much of the workplace will be dedicated to. Good coffee will always provide the great stimulus to creativity and connection.
So at 2468, we’ve been working on how we can make a fully equipped refreshment zone, providing coffee, eat, water, and a wide range of snacks including grab n go, safer. The answer is in using a mixture of touch-free tech and design.
